Faithful believers organized Franklin Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church and began a legacy of worship, service, and ministry.
The Franklin Name
Bishop Martin Robert Franklin helped establish a church on McKay Street and the congregation later honored him in the church name.
A Home On Caledonia Road
Under Rev. E.B. Robinson, Franklin Chapel moved to South Caledonia Road, where the church remains today.
A Growing Congregation
Franklin Chapel became one of the strongest congregations in the conference and a $100,000 sanctuary was constructed.
Building For Ministry
Rev. M.H. Williams led educational building construction and sanctuary improvements.
Modern Ministry Expands
Telecast ministry, a church van, parsonage, and modernization helped transform the ministry.
