19 Churches Shine at Laurinburg District’s Golden Royalty Pageant
Mrs. Atlene Rush Represents Franklin Chapel Church (BIG-Z) with Grace and Poise winning 3RD Place.
This year’s Golden Royalty Pageant on Sunday April 13th, 2025 at 3pm was a radiant evening filled with grace, talent, and fellowship as 19 churches from the Laurinburg District came together to celebrate unity through faith. Each church was proudly represented by individuals who brought light to the stage in their own unique ways, but one light that shined especially bright was that of Mrs. Atlene Rush.

Representing Franklin Chapel AME Zion Church—lovingly known as BIG-Z—Mrs. Rush graced the pageant with elegance, wisdom, and a heart full of love for her church and community. Her presence spoke volumes, not just through her poise, but through the way she carried the spirit of BIG-Z with her—calm, dignified, and full of joy.
Mrs. Rush has long been a pillar in the Franklin Chapel family, and her participation in the Golden Royalty Pageant only affirmed what so many already know: she is a true embodiment of grace, faith, and dedication. With every step, smile, and word, she made it clear that representing her church wasn’t just a role—it was a calling she fulfilled with pride and humility.
We extend our deepest gratitude to Mrs. Rush for her unwavering support and for being a beautiful reflection of what it means to serve with love. Her light did not just shine—it sparkled with the heart of BIG-Z behind it.
Thank you, Mrs. Atlene Rush, for making us proud and for continuing to be a blessing to Franklin Chapel AME Zion Church and the Laurinburg District as a whole. Your representation reminded us all that true royalty comes from a heart that serves.
