On a powerful and spirit-filled evening, Franklin Chapel AME Zion Church opened its doors and hearts for the first Night of Prayer, welcoming both church members and members of the wider community to come together in one purpose β to pray.
Starting at 7 PM, the sanctuary was filled with quiet reverence, warm fellowship, and expectant hearts as people gathered to seek Godβs presence, healing, and guidance. This new series is designed to remind us all of the power and necessity of prayer β not just as individuals, but as a united church family.
The evening began with a powerful lesson from Rev. Janice Stuckey, who broke down the meaning of βpowerβ and the purpose of prayer. Her teaching reminded us that prayer is not passive β it is action, it is connection, and it is the foundation of real spiritual strength. Her words called everyone to reflect deeply on their relationship with God and how prayer fuels every part of our walk with Him.
Following Rev. Stuckey, Pastor Rev. Hayes shared a heartfelt message about the importance of unity in prayer, emphasizing how the church must come together as a family β lifting one another, interceding for our communities, and standing strong in faith as one body. His message was a charge to everyone present: that revival begins on our knees.
Throughout the night, others led in prayers for the local community, praying for peace, strength, and healing. There were also powerful prayers lifted for the nation β for guidance, unity, and for Godβs hand to move in the midst of unrest and division.
The Night of Prayer was more than just a service β it was a moment of spiritual alignment, a recommitment to the foundation of faith, and a declaration that Franklin Chapel is a house of prayer for all people.
As this series continues, Franklin Chapel invites everyone to return, bring a friend, and experience what happens when a church dares to pray together β boldly, intentionally, and with one heart.
