Zion Strong: Leadership Unites at Big-Z
In March, Franklin Chapel AME Zion Church β known lovingly throughout the community as Big-Z β had the honor of receiving a pastoral visit from Bishop Darin Moore, Presiding Prelate of the Eastern North Carolina Episcopal District of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church.
This special check-in visit was part of Bishop Mooreβs ongoing commitment to connect personally with churches across the district, offering spiritual support and encouragement to local congregations.
During his time at Franklin Chapel, Bishop Moore took a full tour of the church grounds and facilities, spending time with leaders and members of the congregation. His visit served as a moment of reflection, connection, and appreciation for the faith-filled work being carried out at Big-Z.
βThank you for the work youβre doing in the name of the Lord,β Bishop Moore shared. βYou are keeping the spirit of Zion strong, and the love of Christ visible in this community.β
The Bishop was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Moore, District Missionary Supervisor, as well as Presiding Elder Rev. Chalmers McDougald of the Laurinburg District and Mrs. McDougald, who joined in the visit to show their support for the Franklin Chapel Church family.
The entire church family was grateful for the time, presence, and words of encouragement from their Episcopal leader. His visit reminded everyone of the strength of the connectional church and the importance of staying rooted in both faith and fellowship.
Franklin Chapel looks forward to continuing the mission with renewed energy, knowing that the leadership of the church is standing beside them every step of the way.
